Mini Heart Quilts |
As you may have recently read I have
been completely inspired by the work of Project Linus UK. They are volunteer-led and aim to provide a
sense of security and comfort to sick and traumatised babies, children and
teenagers through the provision of homemade patchwork quilts and knitted/crocheted
blankets. Volunteers across the UK donate their work, which is delivered to
hospitals, hospices and other organisations by a local coordinator.
I have recently made some quilts to
donate but have decided I want to do a little more. I am therefore fundraising to provide my
local group (Bath, Wells and Surrounding Area) with much needed materials,
wadding and backings to allow volunteers to make these into much needed quilts.
These will be donated to local children through the RUH, Children's Hospice
South West and other specialist units in this geographical area. Children who
receive these will then be able to keep them and continue to be comforted by
them once they have gone home.
I have made some mini quilts, the
perfect size for your tea cup or coffee mug and am offering the first 15 people
who donate £10 or above one as a little thank you. So please do support this wonderful
organisation and small people in my area.
